In 2025 Aaron Joe, Founder & CEO of Salish Soils, was recognised as a winner in the Pacific region of the prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year Pacific programme, administered by Ernst & Young (EY). This accolade celebrates exceptional entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovation, resilience and community-impact, and it highlights Salish Soils’ leadership in Indigenous-led, circular-economy transformation of organic waste into regenerative soil products. By combining First Nations stewardship principles with advanced organics recycling technologies, the company diverts thousands of tonnes of food scraps, green waste and biosolids annually—creating enhanced soils, restoring land and supporting Indigenous employment.
